…Lucie Eleanor

Hello everybody. Today I’m in London with Lucie: how are you?
I am great, thank you.
Fine! Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Lucie Eleanor and I am a fashion photographer who lives in London.

Do you think London is a great place for creative people?
I do, theres tones of creatives here, lots of model agent, designers, its a good place for fashion.
Would you define yourself as a creative person?
I would hope so, I think you need to be to be a photographer.
When did you start to take photos?
I have taken photos since before I can remember, it runs in my family, my father taught me how to use a camera when I was small.
Has it always been your dream to become a fashion photographer?
Not at all, although cameras have always been in my life, i wanted to be an artist from a young age, drawing was always my passion but when i started applying of art school at eighteen I included a few of my photographs and I was recommended by several collages to go on their photography course, after that i decided to take a year out and travel before choosing a school in London. I think it was around the age of sixteen i started really getting into photography.

Can you tell us anything about your first professional photoshoot?
I can really remember as when i started out there were lots of bits and bobs I did for little or no money just to get experience, I do remember having my first major advertising campaign when I was nineteen, it was really exciting seeing my images in shop windows!
Can you explain us your working method?
Once I have an idea, I like to create a mood board giving a general feel of the shoot I have in mind, I discuss my ideas with a team; stylist, makeup, model agent etc. On the day I talk to everyone about what I am trying to achieve and take the rest as it comes. Im a fan of keeping it natural.
What is your best photo, in your opinion?
Oh I have a few favourite shoots, I love red headed models with lots of freckles, two of my favourite shoots have had red haired girls in them.

What are you working on these days?
Now that summer is coming I get to shoot outside, which is my favourite way to work, I am trying to get as many magazine submissions together as possible.
What is your greatest dream?
To travel the world and be happy.
Sounds great! The interview is almost over: what are your plans for the future?
I recently joined two photographic agencies in London so I am hoping big thing will come from that, it was been something I have wanted for a long time so I hope to get some really exciting work from it.
Is there anything else would you like to say to our readers?
